Bodywork is a gift—a chance to be fully present with another human, exactly as they are

Emilia Zimmerman, LMT

Bodies hold stories—joy, sorrow, despair and hope—woven into posture, musculature, fascia, and movement.

My name is Emilia, and I have come to hold this work with such care due to my own journey of healing. My lifelong struggle with anxiety and patterns of being and relating in the world caused a plethora of somatic issues over the years. Through many years of my own self-work, I have seen and experienced how past traumas can be transmuted into the deepest self-love and acceptance. It is an ongoing process that I work at every single day. Some days are easier than others!

My initial interest in herbalism and Traditional Chinese Medicine, led me towards a pursuit of bodywork. I got my massage degree in 2017 and my ashiatsu training not long after. I have worked in chiropractic offices and spas, until finding my way into private practice with my partner, Isaac.

During this journey, with my continuing curiosity and passion about the body-mind connection, I trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy. As happens in life, one thing led to another, and I am now pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. It is my dream to both deepen my knowledge of the human body, the mind and spirit, and hopefully eventually blend these modalities into holistic bodywork that addresses the mind, spirit, and body in one.

I believe that when we can access that parasympathetic state that is often achieved through receiving massage, we are able to find clarity, synthesis, and compassion for ourselves more easily. It has often been my personal experience that I have “aha!” moments while on the massage table. I believe it is a massive act of self-love claim our need for relaxation, connection, and belonging. Through massage, we can find belonging within ourselves, and then more authentically find this in connection with others.

  • "Emilia is my favorite massage therapist. She's both intuitive and educated on the body and her ashiatsu modality is a game changer."

  • "I enjoy every massage I have received from Emilia! She creates a kind space where I can bring forward my wants and desires and have them met, and also be met in the silence. She is sweet and receptive, knowledgeable and intuitive. And the space is a cozy nest to be held..so cozy. I would highly recommend!"

  • "My massage with Emilia was phenomenal. I had never received ashiatsu until today, and I’m so glad I decided to give it a try. Emilia made me feel very comfortable- she checked in on me to make sure the pressure was okay in tender areas and made adjustments as needed. I also received cupping and i’m still feeling so good! The space is beautiful, clean, and inviting. I will definitely be back for more treatments!"
